What a perfect day for a ride! The weather was great! After all
the rain we've had for the last month, it was nice to ride on such a gorgeous
day! Rod, Scott and I meet Dan, Barb & Mike and headed out to Henryville.
We ran into Hopper & Bobby Jo who were camping out there. They decided to
join us on the ride! We all headed out and rode the Shaw Lake Loop.
(Very scenic ride too!)
This was NuCent's first big trip! Also Kit's and
Stormy's first big ride. They both have been riding on the trails at the
farm, but nothing is like Henryville. Great for hills, mud, other horses,
creeks and other obstacles. NuCents settled in well after the first few
mud holes. Kit jumped a few, but also settled in. Now Stormy, he's
another story! He needed much more persuasion to cross anything that
looked muddy! The first few were quite a challenge, but it got easier as
the day went on!
We all had a great time! I may have looked like I
was camping for days with the stuffed saddle bags, but I didn't hear anyone
complain 2 hours out when we had cold drinks! Hey, you never know when you
may need something. Besides, the kitchen sink fits great. Thanks
everyone for being patient while we rode these young horses. It means alot
to have a safe lead to cross behind! Happy Trails................
