The World's Fair of Canaan is since
past! All the vendors are gone, so are the lemon shake ups, Polish
Sausages, Fish Sandwiches (which were great this year!), Cotton Candy and all
the visitors! Canaan has one last claim to fame, besides Buddy the boxer,
and it is there Fall Festival. It's quite a sight to see the street lined
with people & dancing threw the night! The kids, I have a feeling, have
the most fun! The Marshmallow Launcher was a hit! Great idea!
The parade on Saturday was fun! I
have a feeling Bonita and the girls stole the show! Porky couldn't make it
this year, thanks Bo for filling in his collar! We rode from the farm to
Canaan, stopping by and picking up a few riders along the way! By the way,
Blaze says he's done for the year! Special thanks to everyone who rode
with us this year, it was fun!
The Pony Express Run was done is 54
minutes this year. No one seems to know the record, but we broke it for
this year! Thanks Trina for making sure we had a safe trip to Madison!
Mike, thanks for shuttling all of us! And of course, thanks to Minnie &
the Post Master for letting us ride!
As we raced out of Canaan, the trip
began! Ron started off with the Mail Bags as we all followed the Police
Escort. Well, JR & Bucky didn't want to stop we ran in someone's yard, and
around the garden! Bucky jumped a Yard Sale Sign soon after! Jake
had a terrible spill, but saved Susan from being hurt! JR was off to the
races! As I flew past Ed Taylor's house and down Hall's Ridge, I wondered
if we would ever stop! Sorry Ed, I ran in the beans - but we did stop!
I've never gone that fast! Bucky & Jake are fine, a few cuts on their legs! But
hey, they're apps - they'll live!! Once we got underway, all was fine!
Each horse and rider did an excellent job of safely running the mail to Madison!
Thanks Sherry, Robert, Susan & Ron, I had a great time with you guys!
An experience I'll never forget it as long as I live!
