SATURDAY MAY 24
Well, we did it! Our Spring Ride was a blast! It was an absolutely perfect day! The weather was great, sun was shinning! The horses were feeling good, saddle bags packed with drinks & snacks! We even left on time, what a miracle with 27 different horses! We had planned out a ride that was 14.1 miles long! Mostly gravel & county roads around Canaan. We kept a slow pace most of the ride, enjoy the scenery! Beautiful creek beds, hillsides, fields of crops starting to grow, swarms of butterflies, and most importantly, good company!
The whole ride took us about 5 hours, and we were tired! Once we got the horses taken care of, we ate a great dinner! Chili, Bean soup, Corn Bread, Cupcakes, and to many chips! A special thanks for everyone who cooked our great meal! Brenda, Lee, Jack, Dan, Barb & Jason for getting everything ready at the Spotted Horse Ranch! All the preparation really paid off! The only problem is we were to tired to sit by the campfire all night! Although we did enjoy the campfire stories, it left us laughing most of the night!
